The Story Behind Chili Pili - A Mom's Mission for Better Kids' Ethnic Wear

Hi, I'm a software developer, a mother of two, and the heart behind Chili Pili.

For the past 8 years, Singapore has been home. I love its energy and multicultural spirit - but one thing is undeniable: the humidity is real. If I struggle wearing heavy fabrics here, how can I expect little children to?

My journey began with my first child, Atharva.

During COVID, when the world felt uncertain, we were preparing for his tottil ceremony - a deeply meaningful milestone for our family. I searched everywhere for Indian ethnic wear that felt worthy of the occasion.

Yes, there were options.
But none felt right.

The fabrics were heavy.
The designs felt ordinary.
The quality didn't justify the price.
And most importantly - they weren't comfortable for a baby.

I wanted something breathable. Soft. Airy. Something that felt special and worth the money.

Then came my second child, Avani.

And once again, during festivals and celebrations, I faced the same frustration.

But there was another challenge.

Living abroad, ethnic wear often needed to be ordered weeks in advance. Sometimes delivery was delayed. Sometimes sizes didn't fit. And sometimes the outfits arrived too late for the occasion.

I kept thinking - why isn't there a place where Indian ethnic wear for kids is always ready, high-quality, and available for quick delivery?

Something you can receive within 2-3 days.
No stress. No last-minute panic.

That thought stayed with me.

And that's how Chili Pili was born.

Chili Pili was created with three clear intentions:

  • Premium Indian ethnic wear for kids
  • Designed specially for humid climates like Singapore
  • Always ready and available for fast 2-3 day delivery

Our pieces are thoughtfully made using:

Because childhood is playful.
And ethnic wear should be too.
